A detachable collar is the quickest way to change an outfit without changing it. Ours tie at the back with two ribbons, so they sit over almost any neckline — no buttons to line up and no sewing.
1. Over a fine knit
The classic: a rounded scalloped collar over a navy or grey crew-neck. Tuck the ribbons under the knit so only the eyelet edge shows. It works with trousers for the office and with a skirt at the weekend.
2. Over a sweatshirt
A plain grey sweatshirt with a white collar is more polished than it sounds. Pull the collar points slightly forward so they sit flat on the chest, and keep the rest of the outfit simple: straight jeans and flat shoes.
3. Over a striped tee
The square sailor collar ties at the front and suits a breton or narrow stripe. Tie the bow loosely and let the back panel sit flat between the shoulders.
Add the matching ruffle cuffs for a full set, or keep it to the collar alone.
